About the Wrestling Association of the Philippines

The Wrestling Association of the Philippines was established to serve as the national authority for wrestling, ensuring unified leadership, standardized competition, and long-term athlete development within the country. In alignment with international wrestling frameworks, WAP has been responsible for organizing national championships, implementing development programs, and selecting athletes to represent the Philippines in regional, continental, and global events.

Over the years, WAP has actively contributed to the growth of wrestling at both grassroots and elite levels, supporting athlete identification, coach and official education, and high-performance initiatives. Through continued collaboration with the Philippine Sports Commission, the Philippine Olympic Committee, and United World Wrestling, WAP has worked to elevate Philippine wrestling within the international sporting community.
